Jackson Pollock: Action Painting in April

This is an Art2Relax class, a creative, self-care opportunity for caregivers of a loved one with dementia. Join us for a learning and art-making workshop that focuses on the benefits of creative arts engagement in dementia care. No art background is needed!

De-stress by creating a canvas inspired by modern artist, Jackson Pollock’s, action painting. Get ready to have fun by flinging, splattering, and dripping paint—making a mess is required! Trained facilitators will provide guidance.

Participants will leave with a completed art piece.

Helen Frankenthaler: Abstract Expressionism with Watercolor

This is an Art2Connect class tailored as a shared activity for caregivers and their loved ones with early-stage dementia without the pressure of planning and organizing! Other family members or friends are welcome to enroll. No art background is needed.

Join us as we learn about contemporary American artist, Helen Frankenthaler, whose career spanned over 6 decades. Using her famous “soak-stain” technique as inspiration, we will use different watercolor techniques to create an abstract painting. Trained facilitators will provide guidance.

Participants will leave with a completed art piece matted for display.

Visiting with Van Gogh

This is an Art2Connect class tailored as a shared activity for caregivers and their loved ones with early-stage dementia without the pressure of planning and organizing! Other family members or friends are welcome to enroll. No art background is needed.

Join us as we learn about the famous Dutch artist, Vincent van Gogh. Using his painting, “The Starry Night” (1889), as inspiration, we will create our own nighttime landscape using chalk pastels. Trained facilitators will provide guidance.

Participants will leave with a completed art piece.
